Structure of the LUCAS project

The Land Use and Carbon Analysis System (LUCAS) is a cross-government project led by the Ministry for the Environment (MfE) in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF). Several other government departments including Treasury and the Department of Conservation (DOC) provide input.

Workstreams

LUCAS has five workstreams. These workstreams are interdependent, building upon each other to calculate carbon stock changes for Land Use, Land-Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF) activities across New Zealand.
